Happy Groundhog's Day!

Looks like spring will be early according to our local groundhog Sam. We were going to head to our local wildlife park to see his prediction but they were calling for drizzle so we stayed home. Staying home wasn't that bad this afternoon we made Groundhog Cupcakes using chicolate cupcakes and frosting and then the faces were made out of chocolate chips.

Family Literacy Day!

Today I was able to go to my son's school to read with him. It was nice to get to spend some time with him without my daughter with us. We read so many books but my favorites are still Dr. Suess and Robert Munsch. As well this year with my so starting primary I have been introduced to the Pete the Cat Series and I really think it is one of the better ones out there. One of our favorites from this series is Pete the Cat and the Magic Sun Glasses. What are your favorite books?

Snow Day Fun!

Yesturday was a snow day for my kids. I had a pretty good idea that there would be no school so I planned ahead to make Snow Ice Cream with them. To start with I placed a big bowl outside to catch fresh snow. Then we waited for it to fill with snow and by late afternoon it was filled. After that we took some snow, condensed milk and vanilla and mixed it together. I tried to add cocoa to make it chocolate because my son said he would like chocolate better but it would not mix together.

Snow Ice Cream

8 cups of freshly fallen snow
1 can of sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp of vanilla

Next time we will add chocolate syrup to it unless I can find a way to make it chocolate. What do you do on snow days?
